We should definitely take care of our joints since they are responsible for our mobility. Joints are the connective tissue between bones, so when we experience joint pain, it can reduce our mobility. However, if not treated, this condition can progress into a debilitating condition.
Those who suffer from joint pain are usually overweight people, injury-laden people and older people. According to Web MD, many different conditions can lead to painful joints such as: strains, gout, sprains, osteoartritis, rheumatoid arthritis, bursitis and otner injuries.
How To Treat Joint Pain
According to some studies, the best way to prevent joint pain is to consume gelatin on regular basis.
Gelatin is a protein obtained by boiling down animal products and contains collagen, which in turn helps form cartilage and bone.
Since collagen is a fibrous protein that strenghtens the body’s connective tissues, it allows the bones to be elasitc so they can stretch without breaking. During the aging process, your body reduces the production of collagen, so individual collagen fibers become increasingly cross-linked with each other.
Gelatin has the ability to treat osteoarthritis and osteoporosis and aid in the recovery of stress-related injuries due to its collagen content.
Chris D’Adamo, PhD, assistant professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore and an integrative medical specialist, suggests that “gelatin reduces arthritis pain, probably because it’s just ground-up cartilage.”
One 2000 study conducted on 175 patients, discovered that gelatin can improve some conditions. The participants suffering from osteoarthritis were given supplements of gelatin on daily basis, such as calcium and vitamin C. The researchers found that gelatin supplementation helped the patients with joints stiffness, pail levels and mobility.
According to Sean S. McCarthy, MS, from the Center for Clinical and Lifestyle Research in Shrewsburry, Mass: “This suggests that gelatin supplementation has the potential to improve knee function during activities that cause high amounts of stress on the joint”.

- Prevents Toxic Buid-Up
Gelatin contains glycerine, an amino acid that boosts the liver’s capacity to remove toxins from the body, which means that its consumption can help you detoxify the body.
- Is Rich In Protein
Consume gelatin on regular basis because it helps keep your full musculoskeletal system in top chape. This is because each tablespoon of powdered gelatin contains 6 grams of protein which helps your body build new muscles.
It is also very important to do some exercises in order to improve joint pain. Make sure to take a proper care of your joints because they will keep you mobile and strong.
